02 / THE LEARNING PATH

Course curriculum

  1. Build a page that lets the buyer decide

Draft a complete product page whose buyer, files, prerequisites, price, and purchase action match a checked delivery manifest.

    Free lesson below
  2. Show the work and check the claims

Create one honest product demonstration and use a claim ledger plus a reader task to find misleading or unclear copy.

  3. Draft messages for people who asked to hear from you

Write a five-message sequence and a sending-readiness checklist that separates permission, useful content, a product invitation, and operational email setup.

  4. Write the after-purchase experience and review one change

Create receipt, access-help, scope, and optional feedback drafts, then record one evidence-led copy revision without inventing support capabilities or results.

Build a page that lets the buyer decide

Draft a complete product page whose buyer, files, prerequisites, price, and purchase action match a checked delivery manifest.

Working steps for the first lesson
Original teaching diagram; illustrative examples.

Begin with a file manifest, not a headline. List what exists, the version, format, purpose, and whether it has been tested. A page must describe the current product, not a future product you hope to make. If you cannot inspect the deliverable yet, keep the page a draft and label the missing piece.

Arrange the page as a decision path: buyer and task; the concrete output; exact contents; a useful demonstration; how to use the files; fit and prerequisites; questions and support boundaries; and price with the real purchase action. The reader should understand both why the product might help and when it is not suitable. A feature such as editable worksheet becomes meaningful when paired with its job, such as enter your own interview notes without recreating the table.

Use accurate verbs. A template helps structure an interview; it does not find customers for the buyer. A planner records decisions; it does not create a profitable business automatically. If the product is a download, call it a download. If online lessons are actually included, describe their text format and access route accurately. Do not imply video, live coaching, continual updates, or lifetime hosting unless you genuinely provide and define those things.

The purchase section must name the currency and whether the stated price is one-time or recurring. Check the checkout's actual treatment of taxes and fees before describing the final amount. Link to the actual terms and refund information; do not invent a policy from this exercise. The sources provide background on truthful advertising, not legal advice or proof that any page will convert. Use sales-copy-templates.docx or an ordinary draft document.

Worked example

Fictional worked example — Jordan's practice product is Interview Outline Kit, not a real Academy listing.

Headline: Plan a focused interview before your first guest arrives.
Buyer and output: For a first-time solo podcast host who has a topic and a booked guest. Complete a one-page interview outline with an opening, follow-up questions, and a closing.
Contents: an original PDF walkthrough, an editable guest-research worksheet, a question map, and a rehearsal checklist. Formats and names would be verified against Jordan's actual files before publication.
Demonstration: a clearly labeled fictional outline for a local baker discussing their morning routine.
Use: collect permitted guest background, select one angle, complete the question map, and rehearse aloud.
Fit: requires a booked guest and topic. No recording gear, guest booking, editing service, coaching, or audience-growth result is included.
Support: download-access help only if Jordan has actually configured that service.
Price and action: $29 USD once for the described files; the draft says Review checkout until the payment and delivery flow is tested. No testimonial or urgency is invented.

Your exercise

1. Inspect your deliverables and write a manifest with file, format, version, purpose, test status, and missing item. Do not describe an absent file as available.
2. Write a 25-word offer explanation using buyer, task, and output. Remove any commercial result you cannot substantiate.
3. Draft the eight sections in the lesson. For each contents item, connect the file to a task the buyer performs.
4. Add a truthful Not for section with prerequisites and exclusions. State support and access only as currently configured.
5. Write the price block and button label. Under the draft, record what happens after a click, what happens after payment, and where current terms can be read. If any part is untested, mark the page Not ready to publish.
6. Cross-check every section against the manifest. Replace brackets before publication; do not display the exercise's fictional product as a real Academy product.

Your finished work

A private full-page draft, its checked file manifest, and a readiness note listing any untested price, access, support, or policy claim.

Check your work

  • Every promised file appears in the manifest and exists or is explicitly pending in a private draft.
  • The headline names a task or output rather than an unsupported commercial outcome.
  • The page states buyer fit, prerequisites, and meaningful exclusions.
  • Download, text lessons, video, coaching, support, and updates are not confused.
  • Price, currency, billing model, and click consequence are clear and match the actual flow.
  • No fictional product, placeholder, testimonial, or policy is published as fact.
